110 Days Till Christmas! Christmas in Phoenix on Labor Day

Much to our surprise we witnessed the earliest display of Christmas Trees - Ever - on Labor Day 2015!  And I'm not talking just a few trees! They were lined up all the way down the store!  Add to that the isles and isles of holiday decorations.  I'm not ready for Christmas - anything!  As we were checking out the gal talks on and on about the emails we could receive on holidays discounts - woo hoo!  It sure feels like this mega store is pushing the holidays a little too soon (ok way too soon).

I'm guessing most of us feel that way!!  How about you?

Are you ready to start shopping for the holidays?

Please don't mention you're already done with your shopping!!

LOL Merry Christmas on Labor Day!

Michael Jacobs I'm sure as a retail guy you understand the importance. I just wonder if this is pushing it too far!  It's 100 degrees out today and I didn't see anybody looking at the trees or anything else Christmas.

Alexandra - nope! Commerce never sleeps - how exhausting!

Anna --- you're right pushing it much too far.  I remember fielding calls and customer complaints when the Christmas Trim-A-Tree shops went up in October.

LOL Michael Jacobs - I remember when they used to come out right after halloween and then just before halloween.  Now before Labor Day - or who knows how long they've been ready for the mass amounts of holiday shoppers!!

By the time Christmas arrives...I am so over it it's not funny.

WE acutally have not put up a tree since I can't tell you when. Goes back to my poor real estate days and not wanting to spend money on a real tree, or affording a fake one.

Now, I have so many incredible potted plants that have to come INSIDE to make it through the winter, that there is no ROOM for a tree. I did put up one this past Christmas on the Kitchen counter....AND IT IS STILL THERE!  We use it as a night light (while we are up...never left on while sleeping) and now half of the lights are burned out.

So I guess I'm getting a taste of Christmas everyday...but at least it is MY choice, and not having it thrown at me some 110 days in advance!

Great post Anna Banana Kruchten

Anna- I don't even want to hear a Christmas Carol, so no I'm not ready for all of this.  I do however have a friend who usually has all of her Christmas shopping done by the end of July... and that means they're wrapped as well.

Anna-Definitely don't want to think about Christmas but I used to work in retail so I rememmber all too well about the craziness of it but I never had it this early. I know in the local Walmart all the shelves in the garden center are all emptied out in anticipation of all that merchandise coming in. Bet some of is in there already.  Talk about rushing the season

Only 500 days until a new president will be sworn in.  Sadly I'm already sick of the political ads.

Anna, with temps in the high 90's, I walked into a store last week only to be greeted by a large Christmas section. Why are we so anxious?

You know there are 2 things that are going on in our country right now that I'm not especially fond of.  (1) New political campaigns that begin on the day after an election has just finished. . .and (2) Christmas decorations up for sale before November!

Thanks all for stopping by my Christmas on Labor Day Post!  You'd think retailers would 'get' that it's just too darn early to be pulling out all the stops on Holiday Decorations?  I wonder if Hobby Lobby is doing the same thing?  Ugh if they are.  You can bet I'll be noticing who's jumping on the holiday band wagon now when I'm out and about in Phoenix!

Oh-Veh! I moved into a lease with low ceilings. I need to get another tree that will fit in my home now. If I don't act soon they will all be gone by end of October.
