Hi William - Beautiful ship. I've had a chance to see them a couple of times over the years, and they're wonderful to look at and imagine what it must have been like.

Yeah agreed. Very cool and goes back to a much simpler time but also think of crossing the ocean in that? That took some mighty large cahoonas

If I lived anywhere near those ships, I'd be in trouble!  They simply rouse something deep inside my psyche!  It's only eleven days until International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat , I recall that as being September 19th.  I am attaching a link here, not just for you but for your whole family ( for those in full pirate gear, a free dozen of donuts from Krispy Kreme. ) I sure hope you have one nearby. Split up and get a few dozen unless they catch you, in which case, "GARRRRRRRRR!"

Hi Ronald Gombach , I recall seeing it on television and it was so incredibly fabulous! Thanks for the reminder.

Hi David Shamansky , It might have been a simpler time but it had to very hard work working on one of these ships. Imagine in bad weather what strength it would take to keep it on course.

Hi Hannah Williams , I spent a day in the heat and after about 5 years, I felt totally done in. Thankfully I added a couple hundred photos to my collection. I was taking less grand photos because I have photographed these ships for a few years now and the sun was so intense with no clouds it was hard to get the best color. But I managed and even did a few in Black and White. I wasn't impressed so much with B/W but wanted to try it.

Hi Dick Greenberg , I never get tired of seeing them. As I travel , especially in the coastal areas, it is fun to see new ones that I haven't seen before. These sailing vessels with all their sails up are just amazing to me and I still get a special joy in seeing them, especially being able to go all through the ships. It's like adding the special flavor to the vision of them.

Hi Mary Yonkers , That will be a special treat for you. Take a lot of photos of the tall ship parade especially. It is totally impressive. You can get some fabulous photos of the individual ships while under sail.

I think the tall ships are fascinating and graceful as they glide through the waters on nothing but the wind.

They are beautiful, William, and of course your photography takes advantage of that! Despite not being a sea-worthy individual I can well imagine what it would be like to be at sea in one of these. And there something about the sailing as opposed to motoring
