
Moving to Broward County with a Pet?
Pet Registration in Broward County Florida
It is the law in Broward County that all cats and dogs are to be registered and wear the official Broward County Rabies Registration Tag.
For pets that do not have the Rabies Registration Tag there is a $300 fine and a $300 fine for all pets that are not registered with the County.
- Dogs and cats that are four (4) months old or older must be registered.
- To register your dogs & cats they must be vaccinated against rabies. Click here for requirements
- You must provide a copy of their current Rabies Certificate that has been issued by a licensed veterinarian.
- If your pet has a microchip or a tattoo with their information, they are still required to have a registration tag.
- If your pet is considered an indoor pet, they still must be registered with the county. There are no exceptions!!!
$$ How much will it cost $$
- For dogs that are spayed or neutered the fee is: $25
- For dogs that are not spayed or neutered the fee is: $55
- For cats that are spayed or neutered the fee is: $15
- For cats that are not spayed or neutered the fee is: $30
If you have not purchased your Rabies Registration Tag within 30 days of your pet receiving the vaccination there will be a $10 late fee.

FREE RIDE HOME! For the first time your pet is found and they have a current Rabies Registration Tag/registered microchip, your pet will be returned to you without a citation, at your home.
If your pet becomes lost again, you will have to go to the shelter and pick them up.
