An Omaha Treasure: The Farmer's Market

One of the most coveted treats of the summer season in my opinion is the opportunity to explore a wide variety of garden-fresh and unique goods available at Omaha’s Local Farmer’s Markets. Omaha offers multiple locations for this event – the first being downtown in Omaha’s Old Market every Saturday morning running from May 2nd to October 17th from 8:00am–12:30pm. Aksarben Village near UNO’s campus is another popular location, especially for university students, and runs every Sunday from May 3rd to October 18th from 9:00am–1:00pm. Even Village Pointe offers a Saturday morning location from 8:00am–1:00pm for those of us unable (or unwilling) to make the half hour commute eastward. Whether it’s fresh pastries from The Parthenon, an early morning sip of Glacial Till Vineyard’s wine, a tasty slice from Prairie Fire Pizza or numerous other vendors, the Farmer’s Market is the perfect event to get you out of bed and on your toes for the greatest range of fresh and funky products from small Omaha businesses and our surrounding community of farmers. I have attached the link to the Omaha Farmer’s Market website below – check it out SOON for the season will be over before we know it!
