Devil's Den State Park is one of the wonderful things about living in NW Arkansas. This park has wonderful camping with tent and RV sites, along with cabins you can rent. There are hiking trails and a swimming pool and paddle boats. NW Arkansas is breathtakingly beautiful in many places, and Devil's Den highlights what makes this part of Arkansas so nice.
Emma says, "You should go to Devil's Den!"
We recently spent Labor Day weekend camping in our (new to us) pop-up camper and had a great time. No cell signal meant that I had to drive up the mountain a bit a few times to take care of business, but that was fine by me. I love having a job that gives me the kind of flexibility to spend time with my family. After all, they are why I do what I do.
Devil's Den was a CCC project, which means there are lots of amazing stonework projects everywhere you look. The large dam, the cabins, and many of the buildings were built by the CCC. There is an overlook at Yellow Rock that has a small building where my husband and I were admiring the awesome timberframing that had obviously been done by hand.
There are also many guided activities that you can do onsite in the visitors center and in different areas of the park. During the weekend we were there, there were hikes with the park rangers, different age appropriate programs for the kiddos, nighttime programs, and even a survival bracelet making class.
If you live in NW Arkansas and haven't explored Devil's Den, I highly encourage it! If you don't, this park is another reason why our little corner of Arkansas is so great. We already made reservations to camp there next year over Labor Day!
