This is one of the most bizarre stories I've ever seen involving a fraudulent claim of Disney coming to a small, suburban town outside of Dallas.
If you haven't followed the story, a local man convinced investors to purchase land based on "insider information" he fabricated about Disney building a new theme park in North Texas. Now, he is heading to prison for 17.5 years. Apparently, Thomas Lucas pocketed over $500,000 in fees and commissions using his story on investors wanting a piece of the brand's action by owning nearby land.
