Sonoma County Home Sales - June 2015
Let the race begin! Summer is historically the time of year where we see the most home sale activity. It makes sense, since families don't want to disrupt schooling, especially if they are moving into a new school district. I call this time of year "musical chairs".
As I predicted a couple of months ago, the median price for a home in Sonoma County has stayed above the $500K mark with no sign of slipping back into the 4's. We are still quite aways from the all time median high of $619K which we hit in August 2005, but it appears it is just a matter of time before we see that number again.
In June, 50% of the homes in Healdsburg sold for more than $1.2 million. I have to wonder if some Googlers (that's what we call Google employees) are venturing up here to buy a second home in the beautiful Sonoma County wine country. Sounds good to me!
