Paving Project - Highway 18 Running Springs to Big Bear

Highway 18 from Running Springs to Big Bear is scheduled for repaving September-October 2015. Residents have been requesting this work for several years due to the condition of the road. With the possible El Nino season ahead of us, it's good news for locals.

Work will begin around September 9 near Big Bear and then move south, completely mid-October at the junction of Highway 18 and 138 in Crestline.

In addition to a fresh coat, the work will include a "recessed reflective limit line" - the fog line. This material has been proven to stand up well to snow and can't be damaged by snow plows.

Karen,  This is good to know. A good time to take an alternate route or plan accordingly ... delays!

There is nothing as pleasant and quiet than riding on a freshly repaved roadway.  It is so scarce at times, however

While I am sure no one will appreciate the inconvenience caused by the construction and delays all will appreciate it when the work is completed

Karen, road construction is usually painful, but much better for the drivers when complete.

This reminds me that our major highway is having resurfacing done today. I will need to take an alternate route.

That's a great news. Thanks for sharing with all of us. It will be good to see newly paved roadways and highways. I think to avoid frequent harms, it will be good to use high quality materials as well as hire right driveway contractors for paving projects, whether it is commercial or residential.
