The figures for August 2015 North Metro Atlanta Home Sales are in. Year over year prices are up. So are total sales. Here is your breakdown of the sales figures.
August 2015 North Metro Atlanta Home Sales
The First Multiple Listing Service reported that a total of 3911 North Metro Atlanta homes were sold in August 2015. This was 10.1% higher than the amount sold in August 2014. However, it was 12.1% lower than July 2015. That makes it two months in a row that month-over-month sales declined this year.
The average sale price for a North Metro Atlanta home sold in August 2015 was $289,253. This was 6.3% higher than the same time last year. The median sale price was $221,995. This was a 1.8% increase from August 2014.
Approximately 2.7% of the total homes sold in August were purchased for under $50,000. On the other hand, 79 (2.02%) were bought for $1,000,000 or more. The biggest concentration of sales were between $100,000 and $199,999. More than one-third (33.83%) of total sales were in this price range. The average price per square foot was $108.50. The median price was $95.60.
What Does This Mean for the North Metro Atlanta Market?
As we enter Autumn, home sales typically decline. That is why we look at sales figures from the same time each year rather from month to month. This gives a more accurate reading of how the market is doing. Sales remain strong. Prices are going up, but only slightly.
