Are you prepared for a disaster in Hawai'i? Hawai'i is a unique environment in the most remote area of the Pacific and although we have been historically blessed with few natural or man made disaster emergencies, the potential for such is clear and a constantly present danger.
Hawaii is not food independant, as we import upwards of 90% of our food supply, we do not have any surplus or production that can sustain the general population for more than 2 weeks should shipping cease to the islands. Having several weeks of water and non-perishable foods in storage is the best hedge against the effects of a major disaster in Hawai'i. Below are some quick tips on being prepared for the worst while living in the best place on earth.
