CITY OF KISSIMMEE INVITES CITIZENS TO PARTICIPATE IN BUILDING SAFETY WEEK
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (April 17, 2008)-The City of Kissimmee is helping to raise awareness about building safety by recognizing Building Safety Week from Monday, May 5 through Sunday, May 11. The theme is: Building Safety- Where You Live, Work and Play.
Communities across the nation will promote the use and understanding of building safety and fire prevention codes to protect lives and property. These are issues most people do not think about on a daily basis.
"The important work we do is often overlooked, until a catastrophic tragedy occurs," said Norman R. Smith, building official with the City of Kissimmee. "When building safety and fire prevention experts inspect buildings during and after construction, we help to ensure the places where you live, work and play are safe."
