Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons in Snohomish County! The leaves change colors and the weather changes. It is a warm and cozy feel during autumn in the Pacific North West. The first day of Autumn is Wednesday, September 23 2015. There are so many things to do during autumn in Washington State from pumpkin patches, corn mazes, haunted houses, beautiful autumn drives with leaves everywhere, Everett Silvertips hockey games, and so much more! The Diemert Properties Group put together a list of what we think are the BEST things to do in Snohomish County during autumn season. Feel free to give us your thoughts and ideas! 1. Go to a local pumpkin patch.

Many pumpkin patches have corn mazes, haunted houses, food, kids activities, hay rides and more! This is a must for the autumn season! Just make sure to go prepared for some mud and rain! Rain boots and rain jackets are a must. After a fun day at the pumpkin patch it is always fun to go home and decorate or carve your pumpkins. You will want to take out all the pumpkin goo so that you have a hollow pumpkin to carve. Below are some of the best pumpkin patches in Snohomish County, WA.photo 2 (2)

  • The Farm at Swans Trail in Snohomish, WA – The Farm in Snohomish has been the Diemert Properties choice for years! There is so much to do there. They have a wide variety of food to eat,  tons of activities for all ages, pig races, petting farm, kids playground, wagon rides, huge bard slide and more. They are known for their Washington State Corn Maze. It is open in the day time opening at 10 am and stays open at night for the “flash light maze” until 9:30 pm. Located at 7301 Rivershore Rd, Snohomish, WA 98290. – Learn More about the Farm Here!
  • Stalker Farms in Snohomish, WA – Stalker Farms in Snohomish is right off Highway 9. One thing that they are known for is their Zombie Paintball Stalker ride where you go around on a hayride at night shooting zombies with paintball guns. They also have a corn maze and two haunted houses. All of these attractions open at 7:00 PM. Located at 8705 Marsh Rd, Snohomish, Washington 98296.
  • Foster’s Pumpkin Patch in Arlington, WA – Foster’s has a 10 acre pumpkin patch and a 10 acre corn maze. They are open from June 2015 – October 2015. They have a pumpkin sling shot, pumpkin blaster, petting farm, and delicious homemade food. We hear that they have amazing ice cream! They are located at 5818 SR 530 NE, Arlington, WA 98223.
  • Carlton Farm in Lake Stevens, WA – We love Carlton Farms! They are on a 60 acre farm and have been around for more than 40 years. They offer events such as the Pumpkin Fun Run 5K on Sept. 26th 2015 and their BrewFest September 26th & 27th 2015. This is a great pumpkin patch for kids and adults. They have kids activities – play area, bucket train, hay rides and a petting zoo. For Adults they have a big pumpkin cannon, fire pits for Friday and Saturday nights, Haunted swamp, Zombie farm and dark corn maze. They always have a huge amount of pumpkins to choose from! This year they have a new zip line and a new zombie hayride. Carlton Farm is located at 830 Sunnyside Blvd SE Lake Stevens, WA 98258.

2. Find a Local Haunted House.

haunted-house-web-blogHaunted Houses are always a great fun time if you are brave! These are the main haunted houses around Snohomish County. There might also be smaller versions of Haunted Houses at the above pumpkin patches. Let us know what haunted house is your favorite!

  • Nightmare on 9 – The Snohomish Slaughter and Rendering Plant was built in 1935 by the Thomas brothers. In 1975 one of the brothers was tragically hurt and passed away in the slaughter house. They never found his body.  Are you brave enough to enter this haunted house?? Located at Thomas Family Farm 9010 Marsh Rd Snohomish WA 98296.

 

  • Haunted Nightmare at the Nile – The Nile Golf Course in Mountlake Terrace puts on a thrilling haunted house with sand traps. This will be their 5th year of putting together Seattle’s one and only “golf corpse” haunted house. Located at 6601 244th St. SW Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043.
  • Mill Creek Haunted Hollow –  This is a home located in Mill Creek, WA and is a haunted residential Cape Cod style home. They set up a haunted display every year and add to it every year! They say it is one of the biggest yard haunts in Western Washington! It is not overly scary so it should be okay for most ages. They serve hot cider to everyone who comes by to see. They collect food for their local food bank so make sure to bring some non perishable food along. This Haunted Hollow is located at 606 164th Pl SE, Mill Creek, Washington 98012.
  • KUBE 93 Haunted House – This haunted house is NOT in Snohomish County, however it is too good to pass up if you are into Haunted Houses! The KUBE 93 Haunted Houses are always amazing every year! This year their haunted house is located at The Georgetown Morgue of Seattle which is a facility for tragic stories of death. The Georgetown Morgue is at 5000 E Marginal Way S Seattle, WA 98134.
  • Sailors Grave – This is a yard in Snohomish, WA that goes above and beyond decorating for Halloween every year! This is the “Final Resting Place of Pirate Souls”. This is inspired by the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean. You can see this rain or shine in the comfort of your car! Sailors Grave is great for all ages. Located at 6716 131st Pl SE, Snohomish, Washington 98296. They accept food donations for their local food bank and also cash donations for the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
  • Stanwood Haunted House – The Stanwood Community & Senior Center is putting on a haunted house for all ages! Costumes are welcome! Donation of $5. Located at 7430 276th St. NW, Stanwood, WA.

3. Run, Walk or Jog for a Charity.

  • Pumpkin Fun Run – As talked about above, Carlton Farm is hosting a Pumpkin Fun Run 5K on Sept. 26th 2015. This is their first annual event! All of the proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society. You run or walk on their farm and after you can stay for their brew festival. They want you to wear your favorite fall costume. There will be a judge, so get as creative as you want on your costume. The ground is mostly flat but uneven. Runners will hold a mini pumpkin throughout the race.   • Oktoberfest Monroe 5k Stein Dash – This run is on Sunday October 11th at 11:30 AM. The finish line leads you straight into Monroe’s Oktoberfest with many great German beers! Run and earn a bratwurst. Located at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe, WA 98272.

4. Go to a Bazaar or Festival

  • September 25th – 27th ~ Everett Fall Home Show – The 10th annual Fall Home Show is held at the Everett Comcast Arena. There are hundreds of businesses there to help you with anything imaginable that has to do with homes. There is also the Everett Gift show going on at the same time. One admission cost gets you in to both events. Admission for adults is only $7.00. Children under 16 are free.
  • September 26th ~ Carlton Farm BrewFest – Carlton Farm BrewFest is in Lake Stevens, WA. Enjoy beer and wine tasting with a beer garden. Net proceeds will go to the Lake Stevens Food Bank. There will be food, music and fall festivities. Located at 830 Sunnyside Blvd SE Lake Stevens, WA 98258.

  • October 3 ~ Monroe Sky Valley Festival – Come out to Fern Bluff Road for the Sky Valley Farm Festival in Monroe, WA. This is an all day event starting at 10:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM. There will be horse rides, hay rides though cow fields, corn maze, food and more!
  • October 9th – 11th ~ Oktoberfest Northwest – The 11th annual Monroe, WA Oktoberfest Northwest is fun for everyone! There is a family fest zone for kids of all ages. For kids they have a root beer garden, pumpkin decorating, face painting and more. There are games for kids and for adults. Adults can enjoy German beer, great food and live music. Children under 12 are free admission. Sunday is 1/2 price admission thanks to KMPS radio station. Located at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe, WA 98272.
  • October 10th ~ Marysville Autumn Craft Show – The Marysville, WA Senior Center is putting on the 2015 Autumn Craft Show at Totem Middle School. It starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. Located at  1605 7th St Marysville, WA 98270.
