Very good suggestion. I have yet to see a home inspection report where the home inspector doesn't find at least a couple of things that need attention and more often than not, there are several issues regardless of how well maintained or new a property is.

And, by-the-way... I once had a new construction home inspection done for a buyer that revealed the roof was improperly installed. That knowledge was worth many times the price of the inspection.... and probably avoided a lot of later expense, headaches and inconvenience.

Paul, welcome to ActiveRain! Congrats on a well-deserved Feature. The video is top notch. I specialize in new construction and always recommend the buyer get an inspection.
I totally agree with doing inspection on a new construction. What is your opinion on doing it at multiple phases of the construction. For example coming out prior to drywall going up to make sure everything is done right?

I'm a total advocate of multi-stage inspections. I have done a lot of them and they ALWAYS were the right decision!

Debra, thank you!
Great interview and video. Here in our area, new home buyers almost NEVER get their new construction home inspected.

Paul Donohue Welcome to Active Rain! As someone who has been here (on and off) for close to 9 years, it's well worth it!
Paul, great suggestions and explanation why new cosntruction home buyers should do a home inspection - city and municipal inspectors are looking for code compliance, and you, as their home inspector will be making observations about workmanship and craftsmanship. Welcome to Active Rain.
Yes, home inspections are so important and many mistakenly forego them on new construction. I'm guessing that is the most common mistake.
Paul - A great video with lots of information. I also like the name of your company.
Paul - Welcome to ActiveRain, and congrats on having your first post featured.
