Where Are The Best Countries To Live?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Venture Realty International

Where are the best countries in the world to live for 2015?

Did you say the US or Canada?

Canada came in at number 9 and the USA came in at number 13?

So what are  the best countries?

Ecuador and Mexico topped the list.

Panama came in at number 8 and Costa Rica at number 12.

The survey was completed by InterNations.org and was a huge survey with 14,400 respondents.  The results are based on many factors including quality of life, satisfaction of life, and safety.

Affordable healthcare and low living expenses boosted Ecuador to the top of the list while Mexico was loved because of the ease to settle in and overall happiness.

I will be posting a weekly series highlighting information from the report about the various Latin American countries on the list along with the US and Canada.  I will also post some of the most interesting findings that I discovered in the report.

The survey covered 64 countries, from Argentina to Vietnam.  If you would like specific information on any country, please contact me and I will do my best to help.

Information was obtained from “The Expat Insider 2015 survey report, published by InterNations”.

I firs viewed the material in Business Insider Magazine and then obtained the complete report from InterNations, which is a 1.8 million member organization.

That is a questionable survey in my opinion. If it were accurate, Americans would be flocking to Mexico by the thousands, not the other way around.

Larry,  Americans and Canadians are flocking to Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador and other countries by  the thousands.  I talk to some of them every day.  I can quote all kinds of surveys  --- but I also see it with my own eyes.

Pew Research ( a very reputable company) recently stated that net migration from Mexico falls to zero - and perhaps less

I have found my niche by supporting agents like you who only need to identify individuals who may be interested in a quality life at a bargain price.  I hlep them find the best agents in the particular local and follow up.  Many of them buy a home for a fraction of the price they would pay in the US.  But referral fees from thsi segment of business can be a huge help to your bottom line each year.

Have you ever had a client or friend die shoveling snow?  I have  -- and now I encourage them to relax on a nice warm beach.

PS.  Wikipedia says that there were  738,203 legal full-time US citizens living in Mexico in 2010.  There are probably at least that many who are either illegal (opps - undocumented) or part-time..

It's interesting that, with safety being one of the criteria, that Mexico came in second!  Maybe they need a new PR campaign or something.  All we hear about them on the news relates to bad guys committing drug related crimes.  Clearly there must be more!

Patricia, They do need a good PR campaign.  Our media loves to pick up on bad news.  To me -- there is not a lot of difference from other counties.  Every country has problems in cities and certain neighborhoods.

Part of the problem too is that our government wants to promote the war on drugs and spend more and more money.  Mexico is the perfect scapegoat.

I am currently in Tijuana and feel safer here than when I cross over into San Diego.  And many of the other "gringos" here echo the same sentiment.  Of course, we are more familiar with our surroundings here  --- but I am constantly reminded of the sensationalist nature of our "news" (entertainment) media.
