Everyone will have to answer to god. I bet we have all read the email that has gone around about a school that has all the drug gang sex problems and the answer is something like "what do you expect when you kick god out of school?"
I really hate paying so much at the pump as all of us do, but I think Kim has been watching to many Micheal moore movies. No disrespect Kim, but the president has NOTHING to do with the price of oil. It is traded as a commodity. There should be more competition from other companies to get more oil on our own soil. Robert is exactly right, we have more oil than we know what to do with here in America. Shale oil can be made for about $35 a barrel I believe, and of course there is ANWR and drilling off our coasts, but if you want to blame someone, try blaming the Liberals in PAC's and in congress who are more worried about a fish or a moose than national security. They are the same people crying the loudest about "big oil" and the price of gas, yet they yell and scream if we even think about drilling here. hypocrites. Maybe if India and China quit using oil, we can go back to the old days, until then, start drilling here and watch the price fall.
You seem very confused Robert. What margin of profit do you make from running your business? How would you feel if the Government came and told you it was too much and you needed to cut your margin in half? You see the problem is the margin remains the same. The actual cost dictated by OPEC means the price goes up. If the price goes us and the margin remains the same, then the profit goes up. Result? Happy shareholders.
Now on the other side of the coin, politicians seem to have no power whatsoever when it comes to drilling. That seems to rest with the environmental whack jobs who have successfully prevented drilling in Anwar and the building of a new refinery in more than 30 years. For me, I would drill through the head of a Caribou to get the oil out of the ground.
