Real Estate Investing Excuses, Excuses, Excuses?.......Just do it!

It is a cold morning as the alarm clock goes off at 5 AM and this is the start of your day. You may have to get ready for work or just some work around the house. The kids will be up soon along with your spouse so you have a nice hot breakfast on the table. By now you have already done 3 loads of laundry, the dishes, picked up things around the house and you are finalizing your shopping list for the grocery store. You just accomplished more before 7 AM than most people might accomplish during the entire day.

Through-out our life we face challenges. Some of us have had them very early in life as children, others have encountered tough times as we grew up. There are many dedicated people out there that work and go to school. I did it for many years having typical 18 hour days and nights between school and work. Did I want to work all day and then rush to get to some college classes at night? Not really. But what I knew was I wanted a better life.

Sometimes in life we have to sacrfice for what we want. Some people think it comes easy to those that succeed, but what they fail to see is all the hard work and effort that went into it. Some people just choose to see the final result. All my life, I have heard excuses from family, friends and neighbors. Often I would offer many words of encouragement as I would hear.....

I failed a test!
I have no money!
Its too cold!
Its too hot!
I am too young!
I am too old!
I am too thin!
I am too heavy!
I do not have the time!
I am too busy!
I have too many obstacles!
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!!!

Unfortunately, negative people can drain you faster than a car battery that had it lights left on over night. Do not let others drain you of your energy or effort. Sometimes people have bad days and they often want to share that bad day with you. Try to stay positive rather than negative. I found it amusing former Notre Dame Football Coach Lou Holtz wrote a book titled Winning Every Day: The Game Plan for Success. In that book he had the following quote...Ninety percent of the people you meet do not care about your troubles. The other 10 percent are glad you have them!

I do not know if this quote is funny or sad? It is amazing sometimes to think about how others might view our problems. Often in life you can try to help others but sometimes people do not value the time, energy, help and advice you give them.  Sometimes in a family there is always give and take in everything you must do.  You need to have a balance bewtwen work, rest and family time.  Too much of one area can dramticalling impact th pother areas.  Just like real estate investing you will have give and take. You do not have time for excuses. :) You will succeed! You will make it happen! You will not make excuses! You will JUST DO IT!!!! Good luck. Believe and Achieve! :) - Joe
