Keep Your Customers Happy Once You've Finished Doing Business

Once you’ve established a good bond with your customers, you’ll want to do as much as you can to keep them happy for life.  As the years pass you can become solidified as their go to agent or property manager.  We have some owners in our Highlands Ranch property management portfolio that will be with us for almost 9 years now.  The longer you remain their sole provider for your service, the longer they will refer business to you and directly help your profit.

Remember to always respond quickly.  One of the most common complaints about anyone in the industry is that they take too long to answer calls and emails. Even if you don’t have the answer right when you read the email, provide a response that lets them know when you plan to get back to them.  Make sure you always address them by their name.  No one likes to be just another number in your list of clients.  There should be a personal touch there.

If you can, get most of your clients on a surprise “gift” campaign.  A card in the mail and a small gift card every now and again can do wonders to keep you in the front of someone’s mind.  This small effort will continually remind your best clients of your services and make it more likely for them to pass on your contact information.

Always show a strong sense of confidence when dealing with your customers.  They can spot when you are lacking confidence, whether it be in your services or product knowledge.  Improve the way you carry yourself if you notice this becoming a trend in how you deal with new clients.  With that keep your attitude constantly positive.  No one wants to work with an unpleasant person.  They certainly don’t want to have to give them money as well.  Keep all business interactions nice and professional, and watch their opinion of you gain altitude.

Above all, be thankful for the business you have received, whether it is big or small. Say thank you whenever possible and make that effort to show appreciation.  Your clients will remember it next time they hear of someone else needing your service.
