The lack of Curb Appeal will be high on a buyer's list. So, before you put your house on the market, Don't Do The Following 5 Mistakes...

 

1. Mistake: Neglect The Yard.

No...You want to make sure the grass is mowed and watered, and the bushes are trimmed and shaped.

 

2. Mistake: Leave Your Personal "Stuff" Around The Property..

 No...Clear all the clutter just like you should be doing on the inside.

 

3Mistake: Don't Worry How The Front Door Looks.

No...A front door should say "Welcome", not that the screen is ripped or the railing is rusty, or the door nob hanging.

 

4. Mistake: Keep The Lights Off.

No...You want your house to shine from the outside in. Don't stay in the dark. Lighten up your front entry.

 

5. Mistake: No One Is Going To Care What The Outside Looks Like.

No...Buyers are looking at your house from it's Curb Appeal, and will decide if they want to go in or keep driving...

Absolutely Larry and Sheila.  I think we've all seen buyers drive p to a house, look at the outside and decide right there to drive on.  All because of the lack of attention to the curb appeal.

Great post, Sheila and Larry... I'm always telling my clients that buyers are making up their minds about the home in the 30-45 seconds it takes to walk up to the front door. If they don't like what they see, they'll go into the house lookng for excuses to validate that first negative impression. But then there are those, who just refuse to go in if the outside isn't right.

There have been many homes that I have pulled up to and the buyer said no. It saves times but I think if only they had made the outside more appealing they could have gotten the buyer in the front door.
