The air on Long Island is getting cooler and dryer as the Fall of 2015 arrives. The main roads of the North Fork become jammed with traffic as families head out to the East End of Long Island to enjoy the Fall season filled with fun. There are many Farm stands that offer a large variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables, and apple cider. You can also enjoy the smell and taste of fresh baked pies and bread. Enjoy a hayride or a spooky walk through the corn maze.

One of the most popular things to do in the Fall on the North Fork is to head out to the fields to pick your favorite pumpkin. Whether it's a pumpkin to carve for Halloween or pumpkins to decorate the exterior of your home, you are sure to find the perfect pumpkin.

Head East on Long Island and you are sure to find many beautiful wineries:) Be prepared for the wine lovers and pumpkin patch lover's traffic.

My favorites are Palmer Vineyards, Sparkling Pointe, and Wolffer.

The North Fork is beautiful, especially when the leaves start changing color.

Debra,

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  When I start seeing pumpkins and the leaves changing colors, I know the season is close.  The way you describe  the North & East Fork of Long Island, it surprises me... when I think of New York, I think of all the people, buildings, etc...  This paints a totally different picture.  Thanks for sharing.

Funny how you mention all of the people, buildings, etc. The East End of Long Island has a lot of Pine Barrens. I always joke around and say that if the Pine Trees could be consumers, we would all be rich. There are a lot of farm fields as well. Totally different from the NY City atmosphere. Have a beautiful weekend!
