Berry Hill Farms
Berry Hill Farm is just outside of Champlin, 9 miles North of Anoka. Get directions. 763-753-5891 At Berry Hill Farm, you can take part in the pumpkin harvest at Berry Hill Farm. The 100-acre farm, tucked away in rural Anoka (Nowthen), turns glorious shades of gold, orange and red during October - and provides a family-friendly outing. Pick out your own farm-grown pumpkin directly from the field - not a supermarket bin - and haul it to your car in a little red Radio Flyer. Take a tractor tour through the back acres of the farm, which winds through the woods filled with charming pumpkin people. Get lost (but not too lost) in the tall grass maze, and be the first to find the enormous golden nugget. The best fall photos happen here because smiles come naturally at Berry Hill Farm. Experience the colors of fall.
Berry Hill Farm is open weekends of October (Saturday’s noon – and Sunday’s Noon – 6). They are also open during MEA October 16th & 17th from 10 am – 6 pm. The admission for Berry Hill Farm is $2 and then you pay separately for your additional activities or you can purchase a ticket for $6 which includes the wagon ride and maze ticket and then your admission is Free. Easy Halloween Treats For Kids:
Visiting Fall festival’s and Orchard’s can really add up with kids, here're a few fun things to do at home on the cheap and still have fun with the kids!
Mini Caramel Apple’s:
- Apples (Green or an assortment)
- A package of baking pop sticks or wooden skewer’s cut in half (Found at JoAnn’s, Michael’s or craft
supply store) - Halloween sprinkle’s crushed nuts, or your favorite crushed candy
- Store bought Caramel dipping sauce
Purchase a handful of green apples or a variety of your favorite apples. Use a melon scoop to scoop out round apple pieces, when you have the desired amount of apple scoops set them aside. To make it easier for the apples to stand and dry, you may want to cut a piece off to create a flat bottom.
Warm a purchased container of caramel dipping sauce (found at Cub, Aldi’s or your favorite local Champlin store, or you can make your own caramel sauce if you prefer homemade). Heat per directions on the container to safely melt your caramel. Once the caramel is warm place sticks in the apple pieces for easy dipping.
Use parchment paper and lay it out flat. Once your apple pieces have sticks in carefully dip your apple piece in the caramel and place on the parchment paper, flat side down. Before your caramel apples become dry, shake sprinkle’s on or dip in a small container of sprinkle’s or nuts, however, you prefer.

Mini Donut Spider’s:
- Deli/bakery package of chocolate mini donuts
- M&M’s
- Bag of pretzel’s
- Chocolate frosting store bought
Adults carefully use a sharp knife to cut “leg” pieces from the pretzel’s. Depending on how many spiders you would like to make, each one should have 8 legs, 4 on each side.
If you have a frosting tool you may use that to add a dab of chocolate frosting or you can use a Ziploc bag, fill a corner with chocolate frosting, cut off the tip and use as a piping tool. Place two small dabs of chocolate frosting on the donut and add two matching M&M’s to secure the eyes.
Carefully press each leg into the mini donut, be careful not to press too hard or the pretzel will break.
Easy, cheap and ready to serve.

Witches Hands:
- Box of medium size “clear” plastic serving gloves
- Package of Candy Corn
- Box of microwave popcorn
- String to tie
Pop your microwave popcorn, let cool a little before opening the package. Poor several bags of popcorn into a large bowl and let the popcorn cool before the kids touch it.
Take your clear serving gloves and place one piece of candy corn pointy-side out to create the witches fingernail, hold glove fingers down and start scooping the popcorn into the finger’s. Once the serving glove is full of popcorn, use the string to tie off the end and secure the hand shut.
