This is the new HOA Report I just wrote, (HOA Savers LLC). While it's specific to AZ, the problems are commonplace across America. When you buy your home, you use licensed agents, lenders, appraisers, inspectors...then after you close, the HOA management company that handles your appx 3k per year in many instances, is handled by an HOA management company that is not licensed or regulated in most states. Please share with your friends, neighbors, legislators, real estate agents! The only way we can get HOA Reform is to get educated, and all push for protections in the law...the legislators have been listening to the lobbyists that have been profiting off HOAs for decades. Owners need more protections, and more options than to sue.
Jill Schweitzer - It is time for higher standards, licensing, education, and more professional management in any Home Owners Association (HOA) that is responsible for managing others money and property! Great post!

Welcome to ActiveRain and congratulations on putting together a very in depth document. Doing due diligence before moving into an HOA community is definitely worth the time and effort.

We are certainly going to enjoy reading more from you on Active Rain! Welcome to the community!
Good morning, Jill Schweitzer I love this topic.... as real estate agents, we deal with management companies consistently with our condo communities.... our single family home subdivisions do not have HOA, only our condo subdivisions.... much of what we deal with and the condo owner deals with is borderline abusive....I hope licensing is a requirement in the future to remove the debris....
and welcome to ActiveRain.... I hope you enjoy participating on this platform as much as I have over the past 6 years....it's a great place to learn, share, market and network.... blog away....
Hi Jill, thanks for the post, It was very informative. Keep up the good work!
Welcome to ActiveRain, it's great to have you aboard. I look forward to reading more of your posts!
Jill Schweitzer Welcome to Active Rain! As REALTORS who have been here (on and off) for close to 9 years, it's well worth it!
Jill, this is why it's so important to get involved with your owners' association. Oh, and welcome to ActiveRain!
Thank you for the welcomes! I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you.
Jill Schweitzer Your new HOA report is great. I have seen so many problems in HOAs over the years. I now work with International Referrals but if I am involved in any way with a transaction involving a HOA, I would like your permission to provide copies of your document to the parties involved.
I also think it would be great if you include your name and contact information on the report.
And welcome to ActiveRain. I am looking forward to more posts on your blog.

I am not a fan of HOA's either Jill, and will never invest in a property that is burdened with one.
Welcome to Active Rain, looking forward to reading many more of your posts, let me know if there is anything that I can do to help as you get started here.

Jill - This report looks like it has a lot of interesting things for homeowners and buyers to consider though I think the HOAs should manage the same way we do many things by educating themselves and staying involved.
Jill - This is a great first post here in the Rain. I look forward to reading more from you.
