Eclipse Shots of the Super Moon Cedaredge, CO September 2015
The moon was truly an awesome sight tonight. The red color, full size and eclipse made for a great night show. You could see more people, with their kids, out on the streets than you usually see after dark in my town.
I shot a lot of pictures tonight. Some came out pretty decent and some not so good. I really enjoyed this special lunar show. This was not only a full moon, but a super moon and the added treat was the eclipse. This has only happened five times since 1900. The next time we will see this happen will be in 2033.
I used a tripod tonight and really pushed my camera. I guess that's why I had so many bad shots, but it was worth it to get the good ones. It's amazing how sensitive every movement is when you are using this much zoom.
My dad was visiting from out of town, and he really enjoyed it, too. We've seen the sunrise over the North Rim of the Grand Canyon together and now this lunar eclipse of a super moon. I think that's pretty special.
I hope you enjoy these pictures. My Facebook page will have more of them tomorrow.
