The pressure is on but you still have time before the cold season sets in to sell your home. Take advantage of this last buying hurrah to create an effective and creative staging strategy.  Here are 4 tips to help you stage your home perfectly for the Fall buying season.

  1. Maximize your curb appeal. The first thing that buyers encounter when they look at your home is your outside area or your yard. However, keeping your yard neat and tidy requires huge effort during the fall. It gets tough keeping it attractive looking because by then your summer flowers have long been wilted and gone. Dress up your garden or your lawn with pots of new flowers like mums. Make sure that your yard is free of falling leaves and branches. Keeping the leaves off your lawn can be a chore. Make sure that leaves do not cover the appeal of your yard so you have to regularly rake the leaves off.
  2. Keep yourself and your budget in check. Do not go overboard with your redecoration or renovation projects. Take into consideration your budget and know when you should stop. You might be tempted to dress up your home because of the holidays and celebrations, but remember that you want your buyers to notice the home itself not the decoration.
  3. Create a comfy and cozy atmosphere. It could get windy and chilly during the fall season, that's why you have to show your buyers how they could get comfortable in the house. Highlight the coziness of your home by stacking firewood, laying out blankets, adding decorative candles or setting up a small table with hot choco, cookies or coffee that would help them warm up.
  4. Brighten up your home. During autumn, days get shorter and shorter so you do not have enough sunlight to light up your home. Sunset and dark environment can cause negative emotions so make sure to brighten up your home with bright, warm light bulbs for all of your lighting fixtures. Once it gets dark outside, light up your lamps to highlight the features of your home. No matter what season it is, your home should look bright, open and clean.
