Questions. Someone asked me a question. I blogged about it.

I like the idea of brainstorming once a month. I also like Ernest Villafranca's idea of answering a question. I think if one person has a question, there are bound to be others with the same thoughts!

A friend sets a morning or day aside to write. Her reasoning is that we are not always creative. We sit down to write and wait for our creative juices to flow. When the muse strikes, she recommends writing several articles in one sitting and posting them on different days.

I seem to get a writers block every time I sit down to write a blog. But I like the Question idea. I will start to make a list of the questions my clients ask and then I'll have some material to work with when my brain is in a fog! Thanks for the ideas!

I keep a list of ideas for blog posts in a spreadsheet. Whenever I think of an idea, I add it to my list. I do have different categories. I have written a lot of educational articles, and they are attracting readers, but they are not generating a lot of comments. I am thinking about topics that will generate more social engagement from readers. Google is placing more importance on social engagement, measured in likes, shares, favorites, bookmarks, comments. etc.

Great post! I have to admit I've been too busy to blog much lately which is very frustrating as I used to post daily!

These are great ideas. I have many topic ideas saved...just need to find the time.

Great ideas, especially taking an hour and turning off the phone. We try to be "on" all day everyday and that hour "off" just may be the most productive!

I get a lot of my ideas simply from taking a little bit of time out each day to browse real estate news websites and social media. You never know what will spark a blog topic.

Some good points you bring up. My quest is divide into category, Frequency (how often to post), Notes on subject.

Honestly, if you're in real estate you should be able to write a blog post every day with your eyes closed. The amount of experiences with clients, homes, our boards, the rules, etc, etc, can fill an encyclopedia even within a short time.
I do realize it may feel tricky at first. Just do it!

Coming over from Debbie Gartner re-blog. I am so glad she took the time to share your post. Congratulations on the feature! I have bookmarked just in case I need a reminder. I like that you mentioned just doing a brainstorm session. I have been super busy with clients and will have a lot to write about later this season.

William - It does take a little effort and planning to come up with good blog post ideas, which in turn helps to write good posts that are affective in generating new business.

I like the idea of a series. I'm planning to do one on downsizing and decluttering.
