Do You Know What TODAY Is?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Professionals BK659643

Do you know what today is?  Well,  it is September 30th.  Today is the last day of the THIRD quarter for 2015. Has your real estate business hit a speed bump and slowed down a little bit?

Last Day of 3rd QuarterFor my Gainesville area, the answer to the speed bump question is, YES.

This is normal for our area.  I know each year we have a slow down after public schools start, after the University semester starts, and once football starts.

But I will not panic or worry. (And that's a lie, as I always worry and panic)

It's been a strong year for business here. Have you had a great year so far?

The way I get out of panic and worry is to take time and a bit of brain space to regroup, and institute our 4th Quarter attitude adjustment!

Most of us stay so busy with new listings and new buyers that some things fall by the wayside. Now is the time to get that 4th Quarter kick-it-in-gear attitude for 2015. The goal is to finish strong!

Here is my TO-DO List for attacking the beginning of the 4th Quarter of 2015

  1. Spend time each day in my CRM/Database.
  2. Who do I need to send a personal note to?
  3. Who has a home anniversary?
  4. Who needs a cute/friendly pop-by?
  5. Cultivate the foundation of my business!
  6. Call and thank all the buyers who I've closed this year.
  7. Send a short (visually enticing) emails to your A+ clients and ASK for referrals.
  8. Go to all my social media profiles - check them, update them.
  9. BLOG !!   Reword, revise, update previous blog posts on good "google" topics
  10. Stay positive!

Remember, just because you worked 24/7 through the crazy-busy spring/summer season, doesn't mean that you should feel guilty or worry that things slow down just a bit at the beginning of fall.

It's ok to breath, relax, and enjoy.  (which is something I have trouble with too)

Share how you plan to attack your 4th Quarter!!

***Oh, and keep me in mind for any referrals for the Gainesville Florida Area too !!

The only thing I could add to this list is ask for reviews on line.  I have a lot happening right now, but it's all wrap up from summer, it's not "in the pipeline" stuff.  I need some new buyers and frankly even some new listings.

Tammy - Good idea! Online reviews!  That's something that I haven't kept up well on either.

great ideas for Q4.  Things have picked up for me after a bit of a lull in late-August, I expect that trend to continue through the winter months.  In another blog I read the term "playing hard all the way through the 4th quarter"...a sports reference that's more than applicable to our business.

As a certified lifelong workaholic, I have always underestimated the value of taking time off ... but experience has been a teacher to me on this lately, too.  I have learned that taking a short down time after a crazy busy season is exactly what I need in order to go from working IN my business to being able to focus on working ON my business.  Literally, trying to force yourself to transition from one to the other without a break is like trying to shift gears without a clutch.  To everything, there is a season.  Thanks for the timely reminder, Christine!

Christine Bohn - Well done.  Yes, I knew the date and what it means. Q4 major activities are to strengthen relationships with existing clients, convert current prospects into clients and spend quality time with our key COI's (Centers of Influence).

Cheers,

Tom

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

It's usually busier in Sacramento than it has been this month, but I'm not griping because I just got 2 new listings today. I pretty much acquiesed that if I never sold another home this year, I've done better so far than just about any other year so who cares.

Chris, I keep reviewing and adjusting, even repeating the theme of some old blog posts, particularly those regarding new construction since there seems to be so much interest in that niche.
