2015 Cedaredge Applefest Information
It's that time of year. The nights are cooling down, and fall is upon us. So it must be time for Applefest. Local businesses and Cedaredge residents are gearing up for a fun and busy weekend. Applefest takes place on the first full weekend in October every year. This year the festival falls on the 3rd and 4th.
Here's the music schedule for Saturday and Sunday.
Everything starts on Thursday around 5:00. The volunteer fire department has it's annual Chili Cook-off Fundraiser. Expect to wait a while. This event is very popular. The line goes out the door and well into the parking lot of the fire station.
Friday in the late afternoon, the town shuts down Main Street and the streets around the park. This allows the vendors to get in and set up. The Golden Gala happens Friday night.
On Saturday the Applefest 5K starts off the events. The race/walk starts at the town park at 7:30. As the day warms up so does the activity. Music starts early in the town park, and the vendors start opening their tents and chow wagons.
Sunday is a repeat of Saturday without the race. The music starts early and the vendors are still around.
You can expect at least 100 vendors with so many different types of art, crafts, jewelry, food and just a wide variety of special items for sale. Or course there will also be apples for sale.
Between Saturday and Sunday over 10,000 people visit the small mountain town of Cedaredge. This is a big deal for us, and we love the festival and our guests.
The video was taken at last year's Applefest. This will give you an idea of what you can expect.
