I dove in today. Fully.
After hours of updating my LinkedIn profile and adding relevant information, shining it up to be much like a pretty silver spoon, I am ready to feed my professional side to the world.
To be honest, I've always liked the idea of using LinkedIn, but in reality, I've never really used it. It wasn't until quite recently where my clients and some of my colleagues were asking me if I use it. I mean, I have a profile and it has a picture, but using it implies something different altogether. I've never used it as anything other a resume site with my picture and connections. Until today.
Now, I may not be looking for a new position any time soon, (I love my role at a start-up within a corporation) but I realized how many connections I've let slip away simply because I simply didn't want to add everyone on Facebook. The answer is: LinkedIn! It's brilliant. It's a wonderful tool. And I don't know how I've been blind to using it before.
Some of my current clients found my profile recently, which sparked my interest in cleaning up the profile. The good thing is that I have my settings cracked down to where you can't even see my picture without being a connection. That gave me a chance to spruce it up first before accepting these connections.
Do you use LinkedIn and do you share this profile with your clients? What is your favorite way to use that site?
Also, if you'd like to connect with me on LinkedIn, you can find me here. I look forward to connecting with you!
Have a Rain-tastic day!
