Sterling (includes Potomac Falls and Lowe's Island), Aldie (includes Stone Ridge), Ashburn (inclues Broadlands and Brambleton) have been some the more sought-after areas for buyers in recent years...and even more so within the past few months.
Newer communities like Aldie/Stone Ridge saw the biggest increase in actitvity in the last year, with a median 29 Days on Market, compared with 42 in August 2014. That rise is likely a result of the decrease in median sales price - down 23% from $545,124 last August to $420,721 in August 2015.
MRIS metrics show that houses moving most quickly can be found in Sterling's 20164 zip code, where median Days on Market were a mere 26 and sales prices are the lowest in county at $352,500.
