The parts of Loudoun County where homes sell fastest may surprise you. Sterling (includes Potomac Falls and Lowe's Island), Aldie (includes Stone Ridge), Ashburn (inclues Broadlands and Brambleton) have been some the more sought-after areas for buyers in recent years...and even more so within the past few months.

Newer communities like Aldie/Stone Ridge saw the biggest increase in actitvity in the last year, with a median 29 Days on Market, compared with 42 in August 2014. That rise is likely a result of the decrease in median sales price - down 23% from $545,124 last August to $420,721 in August 2015.

MRIS metrics show that houses moving most quickly can be found in Sterling's 20164 zip code, where median Days on Market were a mere 26 and sales prices are the lowest in county at $352,500.
