Two days ago, I wrote a post about Fall Festivals and Events in Brandon MS. I listed the upcoming Halloween and fall events in my area and then shared the post in several Facebook groups.
Imagine my surprise when the "likes" started pouring in. It was fun to watch the likes and shares grow. Within 24 hours, the page view count was over 1000! At press time, it's up to 1400. While perhaps not viral, the page count was 10 times higher than most of my posts reach within the same time frame.
This morning I shared the post to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. Who knows how far this little post will go now?
I was reminded of something that apparently I'd forgotten. Localism posts WORK!
After writing my post, and while researching for this one, I came across this article from Inspiration Station. It underlines the importance of community posts.
From now on, along with the real estate advice and market reports, I'll include a monthly post outlining the free events and activities around town.
My Post Went Viral in less than 24 hours!
