Southern Utah Events | Huntsman World Senior Games | October 5th - 17th, 2015
Southern Utah will play host to senior athletes for the 29th annual Huntsman World Senior Games Monday, October 5th, 2015 and going through the 17th of October, 2015. More than 10,000 athletes, aged 50+ years will participate in the Games. Since 1987, the Games has been an integral part of Washington County, Utah.
The excitement builds year after year as more countries become involved in the world's premier senior athletic event. There is no other like it in the world and draws people from as far as Japan to Russia and from Alaska to Australia! Thank you Jon and Karen Huntsman for your ongoing vision of participation, peace and togethership!
The Opening Ceremonies are a sight to behold as the athletes march in, bringing them together with all the event volunteers and the area's youth. Olympian decathlon medalist, Rafer Johnson spoke this year plus local schoolchildren presenting a Flag Extravaganza, highlighting each of the 65 participating countries in the Huntsman World Senior Games since 1965.
Opening Ceremonies were on Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., Oct. 6th, 2015 at Hansen Stadium located in Hansen Stadium at Dixie State College, 500 S 700 E, St George, Utah...and it's FREE to the public!
