Shaker Heights Safety and Public Works departament had a meeting on Friday, 10/02/15. A second draft of Dog Ordinance Amendments was presented, including a proposed ban on pit bull dogs. The current ordinance regarding “vicious” dogs is based on state law enacted in 2008. The Ohio General Assembly deleted classification of pit bulls as “vicious” dogs from state law in 2012. Today’s focus on this issue was precipitated by the death of Annie L. Williams on 7/12/15, resulting from an attack by a pit bull in a Shaker Heights driveway. There was a lot of activity on the Shaker Heights area real estate market this week. 19 single family homes and 1 two family home were listet for sale. 3 single family homes and 1 condominiums were listed for rent.1 condominium was listed for a choice of purchase or for renting. 4 single family home listings, 1 two family home listing and 1 condominium listing changed to contract during the week. The price was reduced for 18 single family homes, for 2 two family home, for 1 condominium and for 1 apartament. The proposed rent rate was reduced for 1 single family home and for 1 multifamily home. 16 single family homes, 3 two family homes and 3 condominiums were sold during the week.
