Interesting that your taxes are not all due at once.  Wonder how much the additional billing costs the county?

People hate paying property taxes, but they hate paying the 10% late penalty even more.  Hopefully this helps saves a few people a chunk of money Rob Thomas.

You make a good point Tammy Lankford.  The county sends a single bill for both installments.  It's easy to forget to pay the second installment unless the property owner elects to pay both installments at the time the first installment is due.

Of course, people who follow my blog will always stay in the know.  How's that for a little self-promotion?

Jill, I will never forgot how I was taught to remember the tax calender.  No Darn Fooling Around.

Due November 1st - Delinquent December 10th ...

Odd how certain things just seem to stick ... forever

Yep, those dates are a California thing for property taxes, or at least I think they are.  It has always bothered me, that they choose the time of the holidays to make them come due.

That is an excellent way to remember when property taxes are due, Kathleen Daniels!

Good point about the holidays Myrl Jeffcoat.  The assessor's office would probably say people can choose to pay the whole amount at the time of the first installment so they don't have to think about it at Christmastime.

It seems like tax time is all the time Endre Barath, Jr., doesn't it?
