Over the last couple of months, we've all seen a lot of positive changes at ActiveRain. I recently discovered a new one that's been going on for a little while without fanfare, but is very helpful to us.
One evening last week, as I logged in to Twitter for my nightly dose of laughs*, I was surprised to see this notification:
This tweet contains a link to a post that I wrote last month.
Apparently, Bob Stewart at ActiveRain has been spending a bit of time lately going back through the blog roll, looking for posts that got a lot of interaction or dealt with timely topics or were just excellently written, and is tweeting links to them. He's trying out different ways to filter our content to pick posts that will boost AR's presence on Twitter, and not coincidentally drive more traffic to our blogs. It looks like he's managing to do about 10 or so a day.
This is pretty cool, and I can tell that it has had a positive effect - traffic has been up on that post since it was tweeted. AR has a good presence on Twitter, with over 23,500 followers, so Bob's efforts are really extending our posts' reach.
If you're not already following @ActiveRain on Twitter, it's probably time to consider doing so.
*As I've mentioned on here before, I don't really put a lot of emphasis on Twitter. I do Tweet links to my market reports and some posts. But at this point, the only people I follow are ones who make me laugh - stand-up comedians, comedy writers and funny lunatics (including my new find @TheBrokeAgent). It works for me, but your mileage may vary.
