When we arrived at the market this morning at opening time (8:30), it was 80 degrees.   Avocado Honey is here again.  The honey has a similar flavor to molasses and is not as sweet as regular honey.   It is great for vinaigrettes, of for glazes on poultry, meats and fish.  It also used in cosmetics for facial masks.

Japanese cumcumbers are pictured above.  We saw a Japanese couple confer on which ones to pick, and they were excited by the bounty of our Asian organic vegetables stall.

Of course we had beautiful pumpkins everywhere.

And, these spotted beauties.  We loved their colors and shape!

And for hit of hot red, these lipstick peppers were vibrant.  They are sweet and great to have in salads, stir fry or ratatouille.

Wishing everyone lots of Saturday Smiles,

I enjoy your trips to the market. I wanted to go today but was too tired and also working on a counteroffer. I love the bounty and variety that is at your market.

Hannah Williams I wish it was a little cooler and crisp here.  It is best to eat honey that is produced with your area, because its properties are good for you, and in some cases preventts seasonal allergies.  We only eat local honey because of that.  A

Myrl Jeffcoat Everytime I walk into our Saturday market, I am awed by the production of all these interesting veggies, nuts, etc.  After living here 8 years and frequenting the market regularly, I am still surprised.  A

I believe that the Avacado Blossom Honey is a better nerve tonic than the Buckwheat variety I usually get. It's rich dark color is typically the gauge I use to determine potency.

Kevin J. May , I had no idea it is a nerve tonic.  It is very dark and it is made by the San Marcos Farms.   They are building their website, and there is a contact # if you are interested.  Here is an article about the folks who have been doing this for 20  years.

Good morning A & R. I was sent a gift a number of years ago that was Avocado Honey, it was just great. I hadn't seen anyone offer it since, until now.

The Japanese cucumber we buy on a pretty regular basis, but I'm sure not as fresh as what is displayed in your photo.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

It's not usually touted as such but the properties go much further than simple sugars. Typically, the darker the honey the more antioxidants it possesses. Thanks for the additional links. Honey's been on the menu for decades.
