According to Realtor.com, Napa Valley has the 4th highest number of properties over $1 million dollars listed for sale in the United States. As of today, there are 184 $1 million plus single family homes in my multiple listing service for sale out of a total of 388, a 47.4 percent. When including condos in this figure, the figures are 200 out of 431, a 46.4 percent.
The one oddity, I just read in the San Francisco Chronicle that they have a huge percentage of $1 million plus listings, so I decided to check. The percentage for single family homes was 51.3 percent and both these and condos, a 49.7 
percent. And they didn't make the list. The only explanation I have, somehow some of these are not being reported to Realtor.com.
Nevertheless, for most of us looking to purchase a home here, this isn't good news. I wish it were different but the Valley has an international renown which attracts many high end buyers. In the last six months there have been 141 $1 million plus sales of single family homes and condos here, 63 of them all cash.
