I Was Spammed Twice This Morning on AR

Do I Report or Delete or Both?

I woke up this morning with spam on both my last two posts from yesterday. I was not even sure what they were selling but it was definitely SPAM. He even said 'Dear Sir' so obviously it is a generic spam message.

I Was Spammed This Morning on AR So What Do I Do

So I reported it but not sure if I am supposed to delete it myself or wait for ActiveRain to delete it later today? 

Spam has not been much of a problem but we all need to check our last posts for a week or more to make sure they did not put their poison on our blogs. I normally get notices about comments but not always.

Did anyone else get spammed this morning?

I noticed the SPAM on one of your posts this morning. I don't allow anonymous comments because I was getting SPAM on almost every one, but you never know what kind of hater will leave rude messages. Not sure if my answer is the right answer but that's what I do.

If you are in the public eye the way we are Kristin we become targets for spam. I would report it and then delete it.

Hi Bill Roberts and Bob Stewart 

I hate to wait a week but maybe 24 hrs. Bob do you have any feedback as to our spam procedures? Do we report and then delete immediately or wait for AR to delete? It doesn't say anything rude or obsene but still want it removed.

I live in Loma Linda and this is a goose at the Loma Linda Regional Veterans Hospital. They have a park area with hundreds of shady trees and a huge pond with ducks, geese, egrets and a variety of backyard birds. It is a nice place to visit if you are a patient or a visitor to the hospital. Any improvements to the Veteran's hospitals makes me so happy as my dad was a pilot for 26 years and we need to take care of our veterans. Anyway, to answer your question, this goose followed me around at the pond and was so comical. I think he liked having his picture taken and not sure if he was happy or mad at me. They are quite verbal!

The longer it says up, the more advertising they get. If you noticed, I removed the name and contact info from my photo as I do not want to promote spam.

Oh my, so sorry for your loss too of family prince member too! Spam is not fun but I sometimes laugh at the way the spammer mixes up the puncuation marks and the wording and obviously people who are translating into English from a website.

If you report the spam, when we confirm it, we are able to block the IP address. This only works if you just report it. If you report then delete, we do not block the IP address.

So it's up to you. We generally go through twice per day and clean up the spam (except on the weekends, where we don't get to them until Monday morning) so it shouldn't sit there for too long.

When I say 'clean up the spam' I mean we look at the stuff that people have reported as spam.

Thanks for clarifying this for us. That is exactly what I did.  I figured if it was still there in a few days, I would then delete it but 'nope' it was gone!
