Oh what a better way to spend a relaxing fall day than on the lawn of the State Capitol Building, or its surrounding ground, in Downtown Austin, enjoying the 2015 Texas Book Festival.  One of the most prestigious and largest literary Festivals in the country, this free event will be held on Saturday, October 17th, from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and continue on Sunday, October 18th, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and is open to the public.

THIS VERY SPECIAL EVENT IS CELEBRATING ITS 20TH YEAR.  IT WILL FEATURE MORE THAN 250 NATIONALLY AND CRITICALLY KNOWN AUTHORS, 80 PLUS EXHIBITORS, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, FUN FAMILY ACTIVITIES, AND LOCAL FOOD TRUCKS ALONG WITH NUMEROUS POSSIBILITIES OF MEETING THESE AUTHORS AND FELLOW BOOK ENTHUSIASTS.

The actual submissions for this year's event were submitted by authors from Texas and beyond, whose books have been published in the year the Festival goes on,  before June 1st and the selected authors were announced in September.  The schedule has been released, so now is the time to come out and take advantage of this awe-inspiring opportunity.

The majority of the seating will be on a first-come, first served basis and if a session is full, no one will be allowed to enter until an attendee leaves that particular session.  If you make a donation of $100 or more, they will provide you with a thank you token of a Festival Friends Pass.  This pass will allow you and one guest a priority line access at designated Festival Friends Pass sessions and signings.  Maintaining a free Festival is ultimately their goal, but this helps out both you and fund the Reading Rock Stars program and Texas Library Grants.

All of the Festival author’s books will be sold at the Festival Book Sales Tents. You are encouraged to purchase them ahead of time, to make the signings move along more efficiently.
