Like many areas across the Outer Banks, Duck real estate has seen a decrease in the real estate values as well as in the number of sales. After 5 years of dramatic increases the real estate market has finally leveled off. Actually, 2 years of increases has been wiped out in one year.

The following Duck real estate sales statistics are derived from the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS MLS.

2006 saw 85 residential properties sell for an average price of $680,641 and a median price of $575,000.

2005 saw 150 residential properties sell for an average price of $853,663 and a median price of $687,500.

2004 saw 198 residential properties sell for an average price of $741,401 and a median price of $645,000.

2003 saw 162 residential properties sell for an average price of $593,670 and a median price of $525,000.
