Mums the word

Hello everyone-In September as part of my trip I went to the Hershey Gardens in Hershey PA. What a beautiful place. It is a 23 acre garden. It first opened in June 1937 as a 3.5 acre rose garden.  Milton Hershey added more gardens over the years. This time of years Mum's are popular. They had a spectacular array of them in the gardens. It is well worth the trip.

Hi Sharon, Great zig zag of mums you created with your photos! Funny I was thinking of posting something with the same title!  Mums are so beautiful...getting us ready for the cold of winter.  They have a very fresh smell, most of them.

How is your garden winding down?

Hi Gloria Todor -Great minds think alike. I didn't notice the zigzag pattern when I did it until you mentioned it. I have never knew they had a fragrance. I have never smelled them. Odd considering I am a gardener. LOL I still have some annuals in bloom and a few other perennials in bloom and lots of berries for the birds. We are going to get a frost the next several nights so I imagine any annuals will be gone. Have yourself a wonderful weekend

Sharon,  Their smell is faint but nice. I bet the birds love your garden now with all the berries! Yes a frost this weekend...I just got my kale in a cold frame along with a little lettuce.  Hoping to have some greens throughout the winter like I did last winter.

Have a great weekend also.

Gloria Todor -They didn't seem to eat them last yr so we shall see if they do this year. I never had kale before and have never grown lettuce. Here's to a green winter for you. Well at least in the gardening dept. I know in your neck of the woods it is hardly ever a green winter for long

You did a great job with your photos. I think I like the second one best, and that's only because it shows how the gardens are laid out. Have a wonderful week ahead.
