There are soooo many things you can do with paint to update and change your surroundings and decor, besides smear it on walls.
I had almost bought new lamps very similar to these. The ones most like these are priced from $80 to $100 each. I just couldn't find exactly what I wanted.. and I am so glad that I didn't. I ran across these at Thrift Store (Yes, I frequent Thrift shops, you just never know what you're going to find) for $2.00 each. They were originally turquoise in color. They are missing shades but all of the hardware is there and the electrical part works fine.
I had used some stone texture paint on some French Doors in the past and loved how they turned out... so I knew when I saw these lamps, what I wanted to do. Five Bucks at Walmart got me a can of three tone stone texture paint. Cleaned the lamps, and sprayed, let dry and Voila! I'm considering covering some lamp shades in burlap to finish off the look that I want.
Paint can be used to:
- Paint Lamp Shades
- Change the color of appliances with appliance paint.
- Make a wall or the side of a filing cabinet into a chalk board with chalk board paint.
- Change the color filing cabinets with paint.
- Fabric paint of custom designs on decor or clothing
- Create Halloween pumpkins in colors with faces painted, instead of carving jack-o-lanterns.
- Change the color of vases with paint.
- Painted wine bottles in a decorative display are the very very!
- Of course, wall art of different venues not just paintings.. but painted sayings on barn wood or similar things.
- Designs painted onto the walls such as a family tree painted on the wall and then photographs hung on the wall looking like they are hanging in the tree.
- Paint Kitchen Cabinets and/or doors
- Change the color of the brick on a home with Paint
The list can go on and on and on.. almost anything can be changed with paint! It's a great way to change up and freshen up your environment!
