Fall in the Hudson Valley
Are you wondering what to write about as a blogger this fall? The possibilities are endless.
I blog about the Hudson Valley as often as I possible. It is easy and my clients seem to love reading about the area. My blog allows me to share posts about everything around me, including local parks, festivals and farms around the area. Since living in a home in the Hudson Valley is new to many, I like to share tips about the region and also about home care. Blogging is a great way to communicate providing information of value and interest.
These are my top blogs for the FALL. Check out my past blogs and be sure to scroll to the bottom to read all about "leaf peeping", our local Hudson Valley obsession in mid October every year and with good reason!
Homeowners Check List - Getting Ready for Winter
Getting your home ready for fall can be a bit of a chore. It is an important part of owning a home that requires little effort for the most part compared to the damage that can result from ignoring these tasks. The Summer is over and the weather has been absolutely beautiful. The temperature has been dipping down at night, but our days have been lovely. Fall is a fabulous time for apple picking and leaf peeping. We are a long way off from snow, but winter will be here before you know it.
Fireplace Safety
The days and nights are getting cooler and soon snowflakes will be falling. Dipping temperatures and colder weather bring out thoughts of hibernation. It is easier to stay home rather than venture out when cold. A night in front of the fireplace all warm and cozy… a major plus in my book. I blog about the Hudson Valley
Halloween PET Safety
Keep Your Furry Friends Safe
Halloween is just another day to our pets. A few common sense rules can keep your pets happy and healthy on the spookiest night of the year.
- The number one problem is CANDY! That bowl of treats can be DEADLY to pets. Ellie and Quinnster may love a sweet treat, but candy is toxic to pets… especially chocolate and artificial sweeteners.
One of my favorite things about the Hudson Valley is the fall. This year my daughter that lives in California is spending a week back home with us. It has been about 10 years since her visits have been in October, and this year leaf peeping has been at the top of our list for things to do. We have toured places she remembers as a child, but with a new perspective and appreciation for how truly beautiful this part of the country is. We have covered quite a bit of territory this week. It has been amazing. This list is a few of my favorites,
The list is really endless and so hard to pick. To be honest my backyard has some sugar maples that complete for the most colorful trees in the valley. Leaf peeping has become a sport all the way up the Hudson River. I photograph anything along the way from Newburgh to Beacon, and have some great shots of New Paltz and Bear Mountain. Apple picking is not the only option available. Make sure to check out these other locations in the area and fun things to do.
What to blog about? The choices are everywhere. I only need time and a quiet spot under a tree.
