Halloween is creeping up-soon it will be here! To ensure a fun time this holiday, read and share all eight parts of this Halloween countdown series, “Judy Carr's 8 Safety Tips For Halloween Treats not Tricks”.
My late mother, Silicon Valley real estate legend Judy Carr, truly enjoyed the fun side of Halloween-the costumes, the candy and the creativity.
However, children’s expectations combined with lowered inhibitions due to candy, costumes and the contrasting ideas of appropriate "Halloween fun" between younger and older children, can result in a disappointing feeling of getting tricked when one expected treats.
Rule #3: Wear the right shoes & prepare for rainy weather!
Rain boots can work great with Captain America’s outfit. Fortunately both Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen movie wear boots for the snow. It may take some convincing to convince other princesses that rain boots DO go well with ball gowns. Boots can help keep little ones from getting wet feet and catching cold.
Keep in mind the potential for rain, and plan accordingly. There's nothing worse than wet shoes, a torn costume or a hard fall to spook youngsters and spoil the fun.
Prepared parents can pack and pass out clear ponchos from the Dollar Store to drape over costumes in case of rain.
