Slithering sliding into retirement!

This isn't easy.  Try cutting your hours, splitting your deals and still spending much the same for your real estate costs!

Nevertheless, it is working!  I am able to maintain the level I want most of the time and work a lot less (although yes I am in the office on a Sunday afternoon writing this  ..lol).

I have to constantly remind myself that this is by design.  I am competitive in anything where I have a chance to do well (this leaves out most sports right there) .  We are doing awards again at our local year end banquet and it will be hard not to be in the top ten.   I did love being able to achieve recognized success doing what I want and like, dealing mostly at the lower end of the market.

My priorities have changed.  Now I want the time to travel with my husband while we are able to get around.  I enjoy spending time at  home more than I did.

The big issue is hobbies.  I don't have any specific ones- quilting  crafting etc.  I like to volunteer with young people but dont' want to be locked in to anything. I may dabble in an obscure  area of antiques.   I enjoyed  my time in that profession.  We'll see, in my life  things sort of happen.

I know lots of  us are  dealing with  this - this blog  series  is sort  of  group therapy.

Kathy,

Good for you. Have you checked in to the Meet Up groups meeting in your area? They are a great, no obligation way, to get exposed to a new hobby.
