The colors in Watertown CT are close to peak. It would seem ths they are more bight and colorful that the past 2 years. Maybe a combination of the harsh winter of last year and the rains of late summer.
It will most probably hit peak this week, especially with the cold weather that has dropped over us. It is expected to stay brisk through Mid-week easily 15 degrees colder than normal for the time of year.
As a tease, just minutes before I took the first photo we were hit with some passing dark clouds.
That discoloration is not a bad photo, it's the flurries that came down on us for about 5 minutes.
It melted as quickly as it fell, but still not a good sign of things to come. For now we'll enjoy the colors and even tolerate the clean-up that will follow. Hopefully that white stuff will stay away until January.
