Tonight at church one of our members brought us a short lesson concerning faith. While he was reading from James chapter 2 I pulled up the Message version on my smart phone and never really looked at chapter 2 like this. Here is the actual verses beginning with verse 19-20.
19 Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you have done something wonderful? Thats just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?
Lets make sure you and I are not like corpses sitting in church and just going through the motions. We have to be actively looking for opportunities to serve the Lord, not just sit in church. I really believe Mother Teresa figured out what faith was all about.
