Seller refuses to pay fee

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Centum Real Estate Group Lic #10401249650

Seller calls you and says he decided not to sell for certain reasons and you have no reason not to believe them and you dont want to call them a liar so what do you do........

Get a call a month later saying your million plus dollar deal has closed and you did not get paid the comissions that you worked hard to receive.

The courts are full which is why a foreclosure in Kings County, NY takes over 1,000 days.

Can you afford to wait this long to get paid for the long hard work that you did?

Even if you do get paid your attorney will take 30% plus money up front.

Does your comission agreement have safety guards for liquadated damages or interest for the 3 years you will spend in court?

Most people are thinking this cant happen if you have a signed agreement in place.

Well, I can tell you it can and will.

Please share your experiences..........

Some people just are not worth the time, I find. It's just that simple. You made the right call though.

Otis Duffy If your listing contract had a Protection Period, then I would find a hungry attorney willing to take the case on a contingency. You will still be expected to post the filing fees, but why should you allow this thief to steal from you?
