Every October, I begin planning for the upcoming year. It's a time to reflect on the year and to look forward for what's to come. I call this activity Seed Planning rather than Business Planning. I've always considered myself/ my business as casting seeds.
1 Corinthians 3:6: "I planted, Appollos watered but God made it grow". As a farmer, I can only do all I can but how they fall or bloom depends on God.
Over the years, I've tweaked the topics to what's important to me/ us, rather than following the tradition Business Plan.
The topics I include in Seed Planning:
- The Year that Has Been: (List of Business transactions - by month, $ Volume and Sources). How much goes to Taxes, how much goes to Tithe and how much goes to personal savings.
- Things We Did Well (and will continue to do):
- Things We Can Improve On/ Projects to discard:
- Review/ Modification(s) to Qualities of Ideal Clientel: We have a list of qualities to describe our ideal clients. When a wrong one shows up, we know "we" arent a good fit. A long time ago, we realized we don't need to/ cant do business with everyone.
- Scripture for the Year #2016: Every year, we pray for a scripture.
- Prayers/ Thoughts for the Year #2016:
- List of Project Goals:
- Marketing Plan #2016 (with Budget):
- Blogging Plan #2016:
I hope you find this helpful as well.
