Maybe a little ActiveRain clean up is in order? Let's clean up some of our older posts or be sure the links still work on those looked at most.
So I as going through my website & blogs to see what information needed to be updated, clarified, etc. when I noticed that some of my important links were broke (like search for homes!). Yikes!
Then I noticed more important things like the email I used in 2007 is different from the one I use today. Some of these posts were extremely popular so I wanted to leave them 'as is' but updated with the newest contact information or search links. When was the last time you've checked this stuff?
This post will give you a few ideas on how to 'clean up' your old posts. It might even be a good time to re-use your older posts today with added material. Since 1000+ word posts are more popular with Google now, you might also add a few little paragraphs while your updating too. Maybe 're-purpose' too.
1st Way - find out your most searched posts by pulling up your traffic (stats) page. It's located on the left side under your wonderful photo on your Home Page. Once you have that up, click on the 'Views' column. ActiveRain is so smart that it will immediately collate your most visited blog posts in view order.
2nd Way - Check your 'tags' by subject. Now if you've never sorted your blogs by subject - you can skip this part obviously. But if you have some years worth of posts - this is the quickest way to find a post by subject or keyword that you've used.
So you'll need to add the '/tags' after your Activerain Username. An example for me is: http://activerain.com/blogs/lynsims/tags. So after your complete user name just add the '/tags' & again ActiveRain is so smart a 'cloud feature' will come up with your tags. Any post you have ever written with that tag will be available quickly.
Some of us have written so many market posts that the tag feature will be a lifesaver for updating.
Hope this helps!
