Hey I Said We Were Sending an Offer for that Home in Carmichael

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Gold DRE #00697006

I'm not certain if this was the same Carmichael agent who had to call back three times during a phone conversation on Wednesday in order to take "very important" calls or whatever, but it could have been. I received a text right around dinner time yesterday that the agent was sending an offer to me, followed by another text asking if we were pending (which we were).

I pointed out that he had promised he was sending an offer 24 hours ago, because I could see the time and date stamp of his previous text message. Today, he insisted, he said he was sending it today and, by golly, by his 24-hour clock, guess what? It was STILL today. If I had a dollar for every time an agent said "I'm sending an offer tomorrow," which never arrives, I'd be retired to an atoll in the middle of the South Pacific.

You can read more about this dilemma in my personal blog today at this link: How Could That Home Go Pending When You're Ready to Make an Offer?

You snooze, you lose.  That agent who threatened to send an offer, but didn't, well, he learned the hard way.

Good morning, Elizabeth --- I hear you on this one --- I acknowledge offers received but I can't acknowledge those that have yet to materialize.

Hi Elizabeth, You know we can't believe everything we hear and the agents you have dealt with have proved that to you.

I always appreciate agents who tell me an offer is coming but I have to caution sellers that too often they never arrive.

Elizabeth, these are the conversations where we might try to hide our fiendish pleasure when taking the call.  Glad you are pending!

Good morning Elizabeth. I always hear agents talking about lack of communication with "other agents", I'm sure that is the case some of the time, but for the most part they do a good job.

Make it a great weekend!

Good morning Elizabeth.  I wonder if that agent will ever make it in your market?  Sounds like he needs to get with the program to me.

Hi Elizabeth, your line about "I'd be retired to an atoll in the middle of the South Pacific." for promises of offers is just so true.

Elizabeth, sometimes I think the agent is more driven to "send an offer" than the buyer.   We do hear this a lot, with no follow through.
