Bear Woods

The Wildwood Zoo and Park is having a grand opening this weekend of their expanded Kodiak Bear exhibit.   The 1.1 million dollar renovation is complete. Three new bear cubs have just arrived and everything is finally ready for the public viewing.

They have added a new “Bear Woods” which is increased in size to nearly one acre of bear enrichment grounds.   They have added a new enclosed bridge to span the area.   Additional pools, viewing windows, shade and shelter, and remodeling of the current den are all things that have been done to enhance the experience of the bears and visitors alike.

that is wonderful to hear = I feel so sorry for bears and deer and the rest of wildlife that we are pushing out of their habitat.

Thanks for this post, Bob.  Quite a few people from work are planning on going over there this weekend.  I may join some of them.  It should be interesting to see.

I enjoy viewing of wildlife that at least look to be in their natural habitat.

I love wildlife preserves not only for the animals but for the ability to get up close and personal with such majestic creatures!
